Pageant Talk with Maadhuri Sharma, Mrs. Earth INTL 2016
Maadhuri Sharma is Mrs. Earth International 2016 People’s Choice. She is an ex-model, Tv Show Host, Video Jockey, Interior Designer and a certified Nutritionist and Beauty Queen. She believes in the philosophy of change as it is the only thing which is constant in this world. She wants to change the way people look at themselves, at Mother Earth, each other, our Earth. She even said that each and every one of us has goodness within us. She often refers to it as our instinct or small voice in the back of our heads or our conscience. She believes that we are creatures of habit and she wanted to remind the world of and rebuild our inherent habits of goodness, compassion , faith and respect which has somehow been forgotten in the rat race of everyday life . Sharma wishes to inspire people all over the world to play their part in creating a better future.
We, in the team, were able to have an exclusive one on one interview with her and this is how witty this beauty queen is.
- Tell us more about yourself.
I am a nutritionist, model and have done television, I have a show of mine on you tube called Living it Up with Maadhuri. I am mother of two beautiful girls. I was recently declared as the pride of Maharashtra (the state i live in) by the pride of India , my country. The American Summit and Society also declared me as Outstanding Professional Woman of the Year 2016.
2. How does it feel to win Mrs. Earth International People’s Choice?
It feels fabulous, I feel empowered. I raise funds and awareness for many causes. Recently on Earth Day we created awareness on waste and its disposal. Before I won my title I had cut a video on E waste.
3. So tell me more about what is Mrs. Earth International and what is its advocacy?
I believe in using my title responsibly for creating awareness and raising funds for empowerment and education of rural children in my country. Mrs. Earth International is the People’s Choice Award. I won Mrs. Best Interview and Mrs. Congeniality in Jamaica.
4. What is your stand about environmental degradation?
It is directly linked with our attitude towards our environment. If we learn to respect our environment, the degradation will stop. to effectively stop degradation of the environment we have to reach out primarily to schools and educational institutes through tailor made programs which would ensure that the future generations would be more sensitive and caring towards the environment .
5. Being an earth warrior, what to you is the significance of educating the young children about the conservation and preservation of our environment?
It would arrest global warming and at least we can hope that we can preserve precious natural resources and environment as existing today and not let the situation detoriate further.
